What is confinement?

Confinement, also known as postpartum confinement is a traditional practice in Singapore and many other cultures aimed at promoting physical and emotional recovery of the mothers after childbirth. Confinement stays typically last around 1 month, giving ample time for mothers to recupperate at home or in confinement centres. That being said, shorter stays are also available.

After 10 months of physcially and mentally demanding process, the body requires time to rest and recover from the strains and hormonal changes.
